Keeping the 1st Ward Affordable
Chicago can't stay affordable unless we build more housing. I support more homes across the 1st Ward, especially near transit, with streamlined permitting and modernized zoning. Let's bring back the Chicago three-flat. More housing means more affordability, more opportunity, and more neighbors able to stay in the community they love.
Responsive, Accountable City Hall
Residents deserve an alderperson who listens, communicates, and delivers. Too often, decisions about our neighborhoods get made before residents have any real say. As your Alderperson, I'll make sure the people most affected have a seat at the table before decisions are made, not after. Transparency and accountability. That's the job.
Investing in Families and Early Education
Childcare costs are crushing families in this ward. I'll fight to expand access to early childhood education, including publicly funded pre-K for 3- and 4-year-olds, so no family in the 1st Ward gets priced out of giving their kids a strong start. Affordable early education isn't a luxury. It's how working families get ahead.
Safe, Livable Neighborhoods
Everyone deserves to feel safe on their streets, walking to the train, taking the kids to the park, grabbing dinner around the corner. I'll invest in what actually makes us safe: well-lit streets, clean public spaces, responsive city services, and strong local institutions. Real safety comes from investing in community.
Supporting Small Businesses
I run a restaurant. I know what small businesses are up against: rising costs, excessive regulation, permitting delays, and city licensing fees that make it harder to invest, hire, and grow. As Alderperson, I'll cut red tape, improve city services, expand access to capital, and keep City Hall working for businesses, not against them.
Supporting Chicago Working Families
Working families in this city are getting squeezed by a city budget that keeps shifting the burden onto everyday people. I've fought for Chicago in Springfield before, and as Alderperson I'll do it again, pushing for a fairer tax structure so Chicago can stop balancing its budget on the backs of working families.
